About The Artist

I am María A. Rodríguez-Alejo; a Puerto Rican artist based in Houston, TX. 

I started my journey into art by painting with watercolors which I find very exciting to work with. I also enjoy working with acrylics and mixed media combining and experimenting with traditional and non-traditional mediums and materials. My work shows the use of layering and washes to get bright and vivid colors. I also like to create unique textures and finishes adding to the look and feel of the piece. I paint abstracts and contemporary pieces inspired by nature and the shapes we find in our surroundings.

I'm a member of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston and the Art League of Houston.
